The Sedley Court Accommodation

The 150 bed spaces are provided in three blocks, grouped into cluster flats. Each flat has 5 en-suite bedrooms. Five students of each cluster flat will share a kitchen/diner area which is furnished and equipped.

Kitchen Equipment comprises:

Individual study en-suite bedrooms comprises:

Students will be expected to provide their own bed and bathroom linen, but starter packs can be purchased through the university, should it be difficult for students to provide these items for themselves.
A communal launderette is provided on site, managed by a laundry company, which will charge students separately for use of the laundry

Residency

Students wishing to live at Sedley Court will be offered a Fixed Term Tenancy Agreement covering the 43 weeks of the academic year. The Tenancy Agreement will relate to the sole use of an en-suite study bedroom with shared use of a kitchen/dining area. Each student will have a key to their own room, their shared cluster flat and entrance to their block. Tenancy periods for the next academic year start on 4th September 2010.

Rent and Charges

The rent for the year 2010/2011 will be £101.19 per week. This includes all costs for electricity and water. It does not include any catering or household costs. Rent can be paid in a number of ways, see payment schedule set out with application.

Deposit

Anglia Ruskin Accommodation Services will collect an initial charge of £200.00 from each student with their application.

This will be transfer to CAMCAT after the student take up residence at Sedley Court . A charge will be made up of a £25.00 Portable Electrical Appliance Test fee and the remaining £175.00 will be held by the Deposit Protection Service as a damage deposit. The £175.00 deposit will be refunded at the end of the academic year provided that a student hands back their room and shared cluster flat in reasonable condition.

Parking

There is NO PARKING at Sedley Court for tenants Other than in exceptional cases approved by the Dean of Students (Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge) not to (except approved disabled students) keep or control a motor vehicle other than a moped or solo motorcycle within the City of Cambridge, nor to make application for a resident's parking permit.

Location

Sedley Court is located 1 mile from the main Anglia Ruskin University city centre campus - a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute cycle ride away. There is access to a good bus service, local shops and supermarket, swimming pool and 'takeaways'.
